"There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path." Gautama Buddha
Welcome to One Almighty Journey!
This page came about when we started fertility treatment and I began writing things down - just for my own sanity. I joined a couple of Facebook support groups for both fertility and stepmums. It's something I never saw myself doing but I just found I had a real need to talk to people who were going through similar situations, who understood some of the hurts and highs of being a stepmum or going through fertility treatment.
I also began to think about how both stepfamilies and fertility treatment can be quite stigmatized and often people don't want to talk about it, have a lot of misconceptions, or those going through it are looking for someone else who just gets it!
As much as I struggle with the thought of baring my inner thoughts and feelings to the world, because I know there will always be those who judge and criticize, I love the idea of just one person reading something I've written and having that weight come off their shoulders as they realize 'I'm not the only one!'
So here we are! And if no one ever reads it, that's ok too - I know that I'm finding it useful writing things down, so if that makes our own journey a little bit easier then that's only a good thing.
I am still learning how to use this site and it's not perfect - if you want to read the blogs from the beginning, click on the September archives and the 'previous' button down the bottom to go to the very first entry. I've also started a facebook page and I'll post the entries there as well (plus you can just go to the bottom of the page and easily read them in order!) so feel free to like the page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/One-Almighty-Journey/391895980960914
And if any of you are on your own journey... "Courage dear heart" - CS Lewis
